and Quadrant 44
The White Star, a planet of harmonious perfection lost somewhere in the galaxy. Or a state of being as many adherents of The Way claim. A place to be reclaimed in the name of the Void as the darker beings of the universe preach to those who would listen. All we know for sure, is that a never ending battle of Light & Darkness rages across the many sectors of Quadrant 44.

Answers to questions about Quadrant 44:
Who are the Lords of Light? The oldest intelligent species of the Eroc-verse, the Lords of Light evolved into Star-children eons ago. The Jump gates and other high level technology are their creations, and they selected and empowered the orders of Star Knights & Sailors to protect all life from the entropic threat of the Void and the Gloom. Illuma was the last of their kind remaining in the material universe and she disappeared at the end of the Witch War one hundred years ago.
What is the deal with Mystics? These initiates believe that the White Star can be attuned to with superior mental acuity, rarely a single initiate can be encountered making a pilgrimage to various Temples throughout Q44. Mystics are at times at odds with the Void and Star Knights.
Star-Nav systems? This tech is an essential part of Jump Gate technology. To use a gate, a ship must have a Star-Nav unit. The process to create Star-Navs is a highly guarded secret, though sometimes one can be found on the black market.
Jump Gates? This technology was not invented, it was gifted by the Lords of Light to the Solar Alliance centuries ago. Since each gate draws energy from the nearest star, most sectors only host one.
What was the Witch War? This decade long battle raged across Q44 as the forces of Light led by the Star Sailors tried to turn back the tide of darkness (or Gloom) that spread across many sectors. Eventually, the last Star Sailors sacrificed themselves to defeat a Master Demon of the Dark and give the Star Knights a chance to win the war. Sadly, that is not what happened.
Who are the Star Knights & Sailors? For centuries, the orders of the Star Knights & Star Sailors were the defenders of peace and guardians of order in Quadrant 44 under the Solar Alliance. The founding members were chosen by the Lords of Light and trained to wield the power of the White Star in service of all sentient beings. Now they are outlaws hunted by the agents of the Consortium.
What is the Galactic Consortium? Formed to restore order to the faltering Solar Alliance, the GC has become an oppressive regime thanks to the machinations of what many believe to be a shadow conspiracy overseen by the Demons of the Dark and their minions. Consortium Authority has branded both the Star Knights & Star Sailors terrorists and hunts them throughout the Red Shift Sectors.
What is the Solar Alliance? The last remnants of a quadrant wide union of sub-sectors that cooperated together for peaceful relations based on an affinity of interests, cultures, and qualities of life.
Who are the Demons of the Dark? Unleashed upon the Eroc-verse by unkown parties. These Cthonic beings harness the power of the Void, and use it to empower their acolytes the Void Knights and Black-star Covens. It is believed their ultimate goal is to plunge the entire quadrant back into the primal chaos from which they spawned.
What are th Red, Yellow & Blue Shift Sectors? Color Shifts denote who is primarily in control at any given time. Most Sectors are constant in their standing, though many of the outlying ones are constantly changing hands. Red Shift denotes Consortium control, Yellow denotes Independant control and Blue denotes the remnants of the Solar Alliance.
What is the deadliest creature in Q44? The Stellar Dragon.
Who is the Free Faith Church? This humanitarian organization roams the quadrant providing comfort and alleviating suffering where they can. The monks refuse to enjoy luxury or privilege of station above that available to most lowly of whom they minister.
Who are the Free Traders / Travellers? These groups and sometimes individuals own and operate starships and often invest speculatively in cargo, with the hope of finding lucrative markets in systems and/or sub-sectors. They are known to carry commissioned cargo and paying passengers as well.
